The D'Urville Wilderness Resort, formerly the Elkington family homestead, is the only dedicated accommodation on the island. Our baches have their own cooking facilities and are fully self contained. We spent 4 nights here and were so glad we made this the longest part of our Sounds visit. Unfortunately we only had an overnight stay and would have loved to have stayed longer Craig and Kathy made us so welcome we felt like part of the family. Would definitely recommend a visit. We loved our 3 nights at the resort and would recommend this length of stay to fully experience the walks,waterfalls free kayaking,swimming and taking time to relax.
